I’m Laura, and I photograph maternity sessions in my Dudley Park studio and outdoors around Mandurah, Peel and Perth at sunset. I’ll help you work out the clothes and which setting suits the photographs you want. You can come on your own or bring your partner and children.

ENQUIRE ABOUT A MATERNITY SESSION

Mandurah Maternity Photographer

You’ve saved the maternity photos.
This is where we make yours.

Studio or sunset · Client wardrobe included · Collections from $550

Choose the studio if you’re drawn to soft window light and simple portraits with very little in the background. It’s a private space, and the client wardrobe is right here, so we can try things on and see what works.

There’s room for close portraits of you with your bump, as well as photographs with your partner or children.

Studio or outdoors?

Studio maternity sessions in mandurah

Sunset maternity sessions around Mandurah and Peel

Outdoors gives us space to walk, with the landscape and evening light in your photographs. We might head to the beach, a field or the salt lakes, depending on the season and conditions.

I’ll help choose the location. You can tell me what you like about the photographs you’re drawn to, and I’ll work out where we can get that sort of light and setting.

Laura captured everything we could've ever imagined at our maternity shoot for our final baby. As we left I remember saying to my husband they're gonna be terrible because our three year-old didn't want to have photos with her mum and her dad and a pregnant belly. She wanted to run in the waves and play in the sand. When the gallery arrived I was

of the magic Laura had captured through the chaos.
She truly managed to be the calm in the storm that evening and it was without hesitation I had to upgrade to receive every photo. We never could've picked our favourites. Even now 3 years on they're on our walls at home.

speechless, bawling and in absolute awe

What actually happens at a maternity session

I’ll give you something straightforward to do, like turn a little towards me or lean into your partner. You’ll hear from me when something needs adjusting, and we’ll keep moving through the photographs together.

I’m also watching the things that are hard to check yourself. A strap that’s twisted. Fabric bunching up when you sit down. You can leave those with me.

On your own, with your family,
or a bit of both

Your partner and kids can join in, and we’ll still make room for photographs of you on your own.

I’m a mum of three, so I’m very comfortable moving things around when a child needs a break or suddenly decides they’d like to be next to you after all. We can use that, too.

What to wear for maternity photos

You’re welcome to use my client wardrobe, or we can work with clothes you already own. A dress is one option. So are jeans worn under your bump with a shirt you can leave open.

You decide how covered or minimal you’d like the photographs to be. I’ll help you choose clothes that work with that.

Send me a quick mirror photo of the options you’re considering, or a screenshot of something you’ve found online. I’ll tell you what I think will work best and why.

I’ll help with your partner’s and children’s clothes too, so everything works together.

When to book your maternity session

Most maternity sessions are photographed between around 30 and 35 weeks, when your belly is showing clearly but you’re hopefully still comfortable enough to move around and enjoy the session.

There’s no exact week you have to hit, though. Every pregnancy is different, and if you’re further along or booking a little later, still get in touch.

I recommend booking during your second trimester so we have more choice with dates, especially if you’re hoping for an outdoor session at sunset.

If you’re planning both maternity and newborn photographs, we can organise both at the same time so there’s one less thing to remember later.

MATERNITY COLLECTIONS

These prices include your session, wardrobe access and edited digital photographs. You choose your collection after looking through your finished private online gallery.

Complete gallery, 50+ photographs | $800
The entire finished gallery, with 50 or more photographs. Keep the portraits you expected to love and the ones you find yourself going back to later. Your favourites can change as often as you like.

Planning newborn photos too?

Bump to Baby lets us organise your maternity and newborn sessions at the same time. I’ll plan the clothing and overall style across both, so the photographs work together when you put them side by side.

You can also find the standalone session details on my newborn photography page.

Frequently asked questions

What happens if the weather’s bad?

I keep an eye on the forecast for outdoor sessions, including the wind. If conditions could affect the photographs we’ve planned, I’ll get in touch so we can work out the next step together.

What if my plans change during pregnancy?

Let me know as soon as you can. We’ll talk through what’s changed and the options for your booking, whether your baby’s arrived early or you need to rethink the date.

I’m already past 35 weeks. Can I still book?

Yes, you’re welcome to enquire later. Let me know your due date and how you’re feeling, and I’ll check what dates are available. The timing guide is flexible.

What should I wear?

You’ll have access to my client wardrobe, or I can help you style something you already own.
Once you’re booked, we can work out what you’ll wear and what will work alongside it for your partner and children.

a little about me

You can just turn up. I’ll take care of the rest.

I’m Laura, a mum of three and maternity photographer based in Mandurah.

You don’t need to know your best angle, practise poses beforehand or arrive feeling completely comfortable in front of the camera.

I’ll give you enough direction that you always know what we’re doing, while still leaving room for the moments that happen naturally between you, your partner and your children.

I’ll notice the dress that needs adjusting, the hair that’s sitting strangely, when something isn’t working and when we’ve already got what we need.

You get to spend the session with your family instead of wondering what you’re supposed to be doing next.
