Booking & Pricing

When should I schedule my maternity session? +

Most mums come in between 30–36 weeks, when your bump is round and you’re still comfortable enough to move around. If you’re earlier or later than that, we can chat and find a time that feels right for you.

When is the best time for newborn photos? +

Ideally within the first 7–21 days, when babies are still very sleepy and curly. That said, I regularly photograph babies up to 8 weeks and it’s still beautiful – just a little more awake and expressive.

My baby will be 3–4 weeks old. Is that too late? +

Not at all. After those first couple of weeks, babies are usually more alert and less curly, so the session feels a little more like a “new baby” session rather than super sleepy posing – it’s a gorgeous stage to photograph.

When should we plan a family session? +

Family sessions are usually held at sunset for that soft, flattering light. Weeknights tend to be best. If you have little ones who struggle late in the day, we can talk through the best time of year and location to work around that.

Timing Your Session

Where are you located? +

I’m based in South Yunderup, WA. My light filled studio is set up for maternity, newborn and baby sessions. The exact address and parking details are shared in your welcome email.

Do you travel for outdoor sessions? +

Yes. Most outdoor sessions are in and around the Mandurah, Golden Bay, Singleton, Secret Harbour, Baldivis, Pinjarra and Rockingham areas. If you have a specific spot in mind, let me know. A small travel fee may apply for locations outside my usual area.

How long does a session go for? +
  • Newborn: generally around 1.5– 2 hours, with time for feeding, changing and settling
  • Maternity & family: around 60 minutes
  • Midweek studio mini: up to 30 minutes

I never rush you – these times are a guide.

Studio, Location & What to Expect

What should we wear? +

Think soft, neutral tones and simple, comfortable pieces – creams, whites, beige, soft pastels, dusty tones and gentle patterns. Avoid big logos, neon colours and heavy patterns that distract from your faces.

Do you provide outfits? +

Yes. I have a studio wardrobe for the whole family, including:

  • Dresses for mums (approx. sizes 6–28), many bump and nursing friendly
  • Simple pieces for babies and kids (newborn – size 12)
  • Shirts for dads/partners that coordinate with the rest of the family

You’re welcome to wear your own clothes, use the wardrobe, or mix the two.

Can you help me choose outfits? +

Absolutely. Once you’re booked in, you’ll receive a guide with outfit suggestions and you’re welcome to send photos of what you’re considering so I can help pull it together.

Wardrobe & Styling

Do you provide wraps and blankets for baby? +

Yes. The studio is stocked with soft, neutral wraps, blankets and simple baby outfits so you don’t have to bring much at all.

What do I need to bring to a newborn session? +

Your nappy bag, formula if you’re using it, any special items you’d love included (a blanket from Nan, a toy, etc.) and snacks/water for yourselves. I’ll take care of everything else.

Is it safe for baby? +

Yes. Your baby’s safety and comfort come first. I use gentle, natural posing that keeps baby supported at all times. If baby needs a break, we stop. No forced posing, no stress.

Can siblings be included in the newborn photos? +

Definitely. Siblings and parents are always included. If you have toddlers, we usually begin with family and sibling photos first so they can relax afterwards.

We’re feeling tired, sore and a bit all over the place. Is that normal? +

Very normal. I expect feeding breaks, nappy explosions, outfit changes and tears (from babies and sometimes parents!). The studio is set up so you can take your time and just be with your baby while I quietly work around you.

Newborn Session Details

My kids are wild / shy / don’t like photos. Will that be a problem? +

Not at all. I work with kids as they are – noisy, busy, sensitive, curious. I’d rather honest moments than stiff smiles. We’ll keep things relaxed and playful so they can move, cuddle and explore.

My child is neurodivergent – can you accommodate that? +

Yes. My own family is neurodivergent, so I understand sensory needs, transitions and the need for flexibility. Let me know what your child finds helpful (or hard) and we can plan things like shorter bursts, quiet breaks, preferred positions, and keeping instructions simple.

Can grandparents or extended family join in? +

Your session pricing covers your immediate family living in your home (parents and children). If you’d like to include grandparents or extended family, let me know and I can quote for an extended family session.

Family, Kids & Neurodivergent-Friendly Sessions

What if my child has a meltdown? +

We roll with it. We take a breather, reset, and shift gears. You don’t need to apologise for your kids being kids. I’ll guide you through cuddles, games and little moments that feel natural for your family.

What if we’re running late? +

Life with kids is unpredictable. If you’re running late, please send a quick text so I know. We’ll still do our best with the time we have. For outdoor sessions, light can be a limiting factor, so aiming to arrive 10 minutes early helps.

Can we bring our dog? +

For outdoor sessions, usually yes as long as the location allows it and your dog is friendly. For studio sessions, it depends on size and temperament. If you’re keen to include your dog, let’s chat.

On the Day

What is your editing style? +

Soft, neutral and natural. Skin tones are true to life, colours are gentle, and the overall feel is light and timeless. I do light skin retouching (temporary marks, scratches, mild blemishes) while keeping you looking like you.

Do you retouch things like bruises, baby acne or under-eye circles? +

Yes, minor retouching is included. If you have specific requests (for example, keeping birthmarks), just let me know.

Will you make me look thinner / change my body? +

I’m all for flattering angles, good light and gentle guidance on posing. I don’t do extreme body reshaping. My goal is for you to recognise yourself and feel good in your photos.

Do you give out the RAW files? +

No. Part of what you’re investing in is the way I shoot and edit. You’ll receive high-resolution, finished JPEG files ready to print and share.

How many photos will I receive? +

That depends on your chosen package:

  • 10, 20 or full gallery (50+ images) for newborn, maternity and family
  • 10 images for midweek minis, with the option to upgrade to more once you see your gallery
How do I see and choose my photos? +

You’ll receive an online gallery link. From there you can download your included images and, if you wish, upgrade to a larger collection or the full gallery.

How long until we get our photos? +

Turnaround is usually around 4 weeks. During peak seasons (like Christmas) it may be slightly longer, but I’ll always let you know if that’s the case.

Can we print the photos ourselves? +

Yes. Your digital images come with personal printing rights so you can print for your home, albums and gifts. I can also recommend professional labs if you’d like the best quality.

Editing, Galleries & Products

What if my child or baby is sick? +

If anyone in your immediate family is unwell, please reach out so we can reschedule. Sick little ones don’t feel like being photographed and it’s important to keep everyone safe and comfortable.

What if the weather is bad for our outdoor session? +

If it’s pouring, extremely windy or unsafe, we’ll either move to the studio or reschedule to another day. Cloudy skies are completely fine and often look beautiful.

What is your cancellation policy? +

Your $200 deposit is non-refundable but is transferable to a new date if you need to reschedule with reasonable notice. Full terms are outlined in your client agreement.

Rescheduling, Sickness & Weather

Are you inclusive of all families? +

Yes. All family structures, genders and backgrounds are welcome here.

Can you recommend hair and makeup? +

Hair and makeup aren’t included in my sessions, but I’m happy to recommend trusted local artists if you’d like that extra bit of pampering before you come in.

Can I share our photos on social media? +

Absolutely. Tagging my page helps more local families find me, but there’s no pressure. If you prefer your images to remain private and not be used in my portfolio, just let me know when you book.

We’re awkward in front of the camera. Will you tell us what to do? +

Yes. I’ll guide you gently with simple prompts so you’re never left wondering where to stand or what to do with your hands. Your only job is to focus on your people – I’ll handle the rest.
